About Us
This is Craig - also known as "Ciege" and "CJ". He is a "Junior", so the CJ stands for Craig Junior. "Ciege" is just a silly nickname that has stuck around over the years. Since I generally refuse to call any loved ones by their real names and I say that you can't choose your nicknames, they choose you...Ciege it is!
Ciege is a software developer who works primarily with Microsoft Share Point currently. He is a hard worker and puts 100% of himself into anything that he does. His name means "Rock" and that is a great way to describe him. He is basically the same guy he was when he was little. He is consistent, solid, and very dependable.
He is also very quirky. He loves small crafty projects and pets. He has many little projects and loves to plant things around the house. He makes me laugh on a regular basis with his great sense of humor and unique way of looking at things. He puts everything into our marriage and any relationship that he has. He makes the best companion and is my best friend.
When Ciege is laughing, you can usually hear it from another room...and you can guarantee that you'll be laughing hysterically with him soon. He loves comedy and is always looking for some great new clips on the Internet. Like me, he is obsessed with the show Arrested Development, so much so that you will often hear him quoting the movie in regular conversation. He loves finance, music, football (Seahawks), computer games, and his family.
This is Candace - also known as "Can" by friends and family. She is the voice of the sweigartSpot and created this blog so that she will always remember these times in her life.
Can's name means "Sparkling" and you'll always find her smiling with a sparkle in her eyes. She loves animals and is crazy about dogs. You'll often hear her squeal with joy when she sees cute dogs in the back of cars.
Like Ciege, she is a software developer and works on corporate website projects. She is committed to work and like Ciege she puts everything into her work.
One of the unique things about her is that she loves to sleep and naps are her favorite past time. She also loves computer games and surfing the web. She is usually attached to her laptop and spends quite a bit of time each week online. A perfect vacation for her would be an island vacation sitting on the beach with Ciege and their laptops. She loves to sit in coffee and book shops browsing books and sipping soda.
She also loves Arrested Development and her favorite band ever - the Smashing Pumpkins. She insisted last year that the Sweigarts take an impromptu trip to Salt Lake to see the band play and can usually be found listening to this band at work.
This is Bachelor, our trick dog and the smallest member of our family. We usually call him "Bach" but he goes by many nicknames.... "Bachie, Bachelor Shane, B-Boy Junior, Be-Oye".
He is 6 years old and we've had him since our second Christmas together as a family. As a pup he was a surprise gift to me from Ciege and is the best gift I've ever received.
He is the sweetest thing and really lives to hang out with Ciege and I. He is an indoor dog and rarely goes outside unless we are out there with him. He LOVES his morning breakfast and freaks out whenever he hears that word. His favorite thing is to play "sock fencing" with Ciege in the morning while we are getting ready.
He is so much more than "just a dog" to us. We've always felt like this little guy has completed our family. His love and sweetness is only matched by his extreme hyperactivity. His current obsession is shadows and he sits for hours looking at lights on the wall.
Because of his huge love of people food (namely cheese and pickles), we've been able to teach Bachelor TONS of dog tricks. When we have people over for the first time, we always show off his tricks and they are amazed. Bachelor fetches Diet Cokes from the fridge, finds our wallet, sneezes on command, walks bipedally, crawls on the floor, rolls over, plays dead, jumps through hula hoops, makes huge flips, holds candy between his front teeth...and so much more. He is an amazing dog and we love him so much.
