Monkey'ing Around

Road Trip! Ciege, Bachie, and I hopped in the car to take a 2 hour road trip to Pine Idaho. Our family friends (Aunt Jan & Uncle Tom) have a cabin up there which they so graciously lent us this weekend.

The view on the way up was gorgeous. Pine is right next to Anderson Creek Reservoir which is amazing and so beautiful.

Bachie LOVES roadtrips. Our AC on our car has been acting funny so we endured a rather warm ride up.

The cabin was awesome and had all of the comforts of home, and more :) We were lucky to enjoy a great weekend of satellite TV. We definitely got our fill of TV for the weekend and it was so relaxing. Ciege got out some lawn tools and got right to work picking weeds and making the front look nice outside. This was his gift to the owners for being so kind to let us stay at their great cabin.

Here is the pretty view from the patio. It was great and smelled amazing.

I loved all of the little pine cones.

Bachie just really loved being in the wild. He had this perma-smile on his face all weekend.

It was so great to sit out on the front patio and just relax.

Ciege had a great time too. He said he didn't realize until we got up there how badly he needed to get away from work, email, and the computer.

To keep us busy, we brought up a paper craft. We put together a paper orangutan during our stay at the cabin.

My two little monkeys.

Here is Ciege working on the monkey. I quickly lost interest and found myself exploring the cabin and taking pictures.

It took a while, but the final product is really really cool. I can't believe we (mostly he) made this on our own!

On Sunday, we headed out to the reservoir for some swimming. It was beautiful, the water was warm, and we practically had the place to ourselves.

I relaxed and soaked in some sun.

The "boys" played fetch with the stick.

Some of the sticks were really heavy and began to sink. Bachie practiced his diving skills and caught them underwater. It was so cool.

We had a great time but quickly grew tired of the hot hot heat and headed back to camp.

We had such a great time. Best of all it was completely free minus about a half of tank of gas to get there! We really needed this mini-vacation.

Looked like you guys had a great time! Always good to unplug from work for a while... I think I am seriously looking forward to doing that as well.
Sounds wonderful! Glad you had a break from work and time to recharge and enjoy each other.
