Tailgating at Perkins

So the football season officially kicked off this evening as BSU had its first game of the season. We didn't have tickets to the game and decided at the last minute to go down to a Sport's bar/restaurant to view the game with some local fans. We tried several places which were so packed that you couldn't even park in the parking lot...or anywhere nearby and decided to give up and go on home. On our way home, we spotted a tailgate party in the parking lot of Perkins restaurant of all places and decided to wander in and see if it was a public party. It was in fact open to the public and we were able to enjoy our game on their big screen with a bunch of other fans. It was great. There was a TV inside which is where we spent the first half of the game, and then we went outside when the sun set for the last part of the game. It was a beautiful evening and it was a fun game too. We could hear the roar of the stadium from the parking lot. While we were watching the game, our friends Andrea & Jason strolled by on their bikes. It was great to see them spontaneously and we had fun chatting. The best part of the night for me...except for seeing Andrea & Jason was enjoying the endless fountain drinks of the Perkins and realizing that thousands of silly fans were enduring the crowds and expensive concessions of the stadium. Tailgating at Perkins was just perfect for us!
